Past Council Meetings

The first meeting of the Parish Council for the Parish of Germoe was held on December 28, 1894 and a facsimile of the minutes of that meeting can be downloaded below.

From later meetings

October 30, 1906
Clerk read correspondence from Helston District Council, and after a lengthy discussion on the subject Mr Curnow proposed that this Council in their memorandum to the President of the L.G.B. with reference to the recent report of the Royal Commission on Motor Cars, and would also add to that memorandum with regard to speed limit by night shall not exceed 10 miles an hour, and that every driver should be compelled to stop his car on a driver or rider on Horseback coming on the opposite direction raising his hand, Mr Pryor seconded the motion, Mr Eustice moved as an amendment that the speed limit should be 12 miles an hour, seconded by Mr Prout but on being put to the meeting the amendment was lost.

March 25, 1935
The business of the meeting was to decide the Jubilee Celebrations, it was proposed that necessary money should be raised by voluntary contribution and that that collectors should be asked to collect from the Parishioners. It was decided to give the children Buns & Mugs.

November 27, 1939
A meeting called on the above date to see what could be done to raise funds to provide presents for the boys of this Parish serving in the H.M. Forces. It was decided to hold a Whist Drive, members of the Council to sell tickets and endeavour to get some prizes, it was suggested it would be wise to have refreshments so it was passed to order 70 pasties from Snell’s of Breage, Mr H.D.Thomas was asked if he would consent to be M.C. and he readily accepted.
